Hounslow Jamia Mosque’s Management Committee organised a vibrant Summer Fun Fair to promote community harmony, cultural awareness, and family engagement. The event was hosted by the mosque’s Chairman, Raja Javed, General Secretary Shafiq Rehman, and members of the Management Committee. Among the distinguished guests were Mayor of Hounslow Ranjit Gill, Deputy Mayor Sahiba Hussain, Councillor Samia Chaudhry, Councillor Shakeel Akram, Councillor Tariq Mahmood, Kamran Aziz, Khan Bahadur, Khawaja Nadeem, along with many members of the Pakistani and wider local communities.
The fun fair offered a variety of attractions for families, including food stalls, clothing stalls, children’s rides, and other entertainment. Women enjoyed shopping for beautifully designed traditional clothing, while children had great fun on the fairground rides. Visitors also relished freshly grilled kebabs and hot pakoras, which were among the most popular food items at the event.
The organisers and attendees said that the Summer Fun Fair serves as an opportunity to celebrate and preserve cultural heritage while introducing the younger generation to their traditions, helping them stay connected to their roots. They added that the participation of people from different communities also strengthens friendship, mutual understanding, and social cohesion. Comprehensive visitor information services and robust security arrangements were in place throughout the event to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone attending.
