LAHORE: Al Mustafa Welfare Trust Pakistan organised a plantation drive at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Lahore, with extensive tree-planting activities held across the school grounds.
As part of the initiative, hundreds of saplings were distributed among school and college students, encouraging them to take an active role in making their educational environment and communities greener. Representatives of Al Mustafa Welfare Trust and senior members of the school management also planted saplings themselves on the school premises.
A special awareness session was also organised in the school hall to highlight the importance of tree plantation and the challenges posed by climate change. Speakers emphasised the need for collective action, environmental responsibility and greater awareness among young people to protect the environment for future generations.
Al Mustafa Welfare Trust was represented at the event by Dr Khalid Bin Aslam, Medical Superintendent, Al Mustafa Eye Hospital Lahore; Amina Sawera, Executive Secretary; Tariq Mahmood, Consultant; and Badeel Akbar.
Representing Crescent Model Higher Secondary School were Rabia Najm, Principal; Col (R) Muhammad Ali, General Manager Administration; Uzma Sajid, Vice Principal, Programmes; Maj (R) Ibad ur Rahman, Vice Principal, College Section; Faisal Iqbal, Environment Coordinator; Professor Rizwan Akram, Senior Headmaster, High School Section; Syed Ghayoor Abbas Zaidi, Senior Coordinator, Crescent College; and Usama Adnan, Coordinator.
The plantation drive formed part of Al Mustafa Welfare Trust Pakistan’s wider nationwide campaign to promote tree plantation, environmental awareness and a greener Pakistan.
The initiative also provided students with an opportunity to turn environmental awareness into practical action, reinforcing the message that protecting nature is a shared responsibility.
