FAISALABAD: Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust provided free eye care services to thousands of people during a two-day eye camp held on October 14–15, 2026, at Chak No. 596 GB, Jhamra Road, Tehsil Tandlianwala, near Satiana Road, Faisalabad.
The camp delivered essential eye care facilities to underserved communities, including medical consultations, eye surgeries, diagnostic screenings and the distribution of spectacles to patients in need.
According to the camp’s progress report, a total of 2,016 patients received outpatient department (OPD) services, comprising 1,203 women and 813 men. Medical teams performed 369 eye surgeries, including 192 women and 177 men. Two cases of aphakia, a condition in which the eye’s natural lens is absent, were also recorded.
The medical team conducted 461 tests each for hepatitis C (HCV), hepatitis B (HBsAg) and HIV. The screenings identified 41 patients who tested positive for HCV and two who tested positive for hepatitis B, while no HIV-positive cases were reported.
The camp also screened 91 patients with diabetes, carried out refraction assessments for 27 people and distributed 537 pairs of spectacles to help patients improve their vision.
The initiative reflects Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust’s continued efforts to make essential eye care services accessible to people who may otherwise struggle to afford medical treatment. Free eye camps play a vital role in identifying eye conditions, facilitating timely treatment and reducing the burden of preventable visual impairment among low-income communities.
The camp’s progress was reported by Wahid Bakhsh, Eye Camp Coordinator, Al-Mustafa Pakistan.
