MUZAFFARABAD, Azad Jammu and Kashmir: Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust provided free eye care services to hundreds of people during a one-day eye camp held in Muzaffarabad on October 15, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to making essential healthcare accessible to underserved communities.
According to the camp’s progress report, medical teams performed 90 eye surgeries and provided outpatient department (OPD) services to 565 patients. The initiative also included diagnostic screenings, vision assessments and the distribution of spectacles to people requiring visual assistance.
As part of its preventive healthcare services, the medical team conducted 99 tests each for hepatitis C (HCV), hepatitis B (HBsAg) and HIV. No positive cases were reported for any of the three infections.
The camp also screened seven patients with diabetes and carried out refraction assessments for 130 individuals to evaluate their vision needs.
A total of 320 patients received spectacles, helping them improve their eyesight and carry out everyday activities more comfortably.
The free eye camp reflects Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust’s ongoing efforts to extend eye care services to communities with limited access to affordable medical facilities. Through such initiatives, the organisation seeks to identify eye conditions, facilitate timely treatment and reduce the risk of avoidable visual impairment.
The Muzaffarabad camp was part of the organisation’s broader humanitarian commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through accessible healthcare and welfare services.
