Manchester: The Workers Party UK has officially announced its candidates from Manchester for the 2026 local council elections. It was announced at a crowded gathering, where a large number of party leaders, workers, and community members were present. The following candidates were officially launched: Nadeem Tahir, Burnage; Iqbal Khan, Levenshulme; Tanveer Marath, Longsight; Bilal Samad, Rusholme; Samira Ashraf, Whalley Range; Sabina Khan, Cheetham Hill; and Saqib Athar, Ardwick Ward. The prominent party and community leaders who addressed the event were Deputy Leader Imtiaz Ahmed, senior leader Shehnaz Siddique, and Cllr. Shahbaz Sarwar.
