Punjab has witnessed record development work, while work on the first phase of the ML-1 railway project is expected to begin in January.
Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi made these remarks while addressing a dinner hosted in his honour by Raja Salman Raza MBE in Southall, West London. A large number of PML-N leaders and workers attended the event, including Majid Wardag, Chaudhry Anser, Imran Saeed and Chaudhry Ishtiaq.
Hanif Abbasi said that numerous development projects have been completed in Punjab under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He said Pakistan Railways’ revenue has reached record levels, new coaches have been introduced, and train services have been restored on previously closed routes.
He added that, God willing, work on the first phase of ML-1, from Karachi to Rohri, will begin in January, including the laying of a new railway track.
Speaking about Azad Kashmir, Hanif Abbasi said the PML-N could form a government in partnership with the Pakistan Peoples Party. He rejected the politics of street agitation, saying that demands cannot be met simply by gathering crowds.
Raja Salman Raza MBE and Chaudhry Ishtiaq also addressed the gathering.
